October 8, 2016

You are invited to be a part of Kern County’s 2nd Annual Cancer Run taking place Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Yokuts Park. It will be a 5k Run/Walk for adults and a jog-a-thon fundraiser for children 5 to 11. One lap for the childrens course will approximately equal 1/8 of a mile. You may enter as an individual or as a team.

This event’s purpose is to bring funding and awareness to the various cancer diagnosis and to encourage the entire community to support local patients. Last year over 350 community members and survivors participated in our inaugural event which raised over $20,000. Please visit “Bakersfield Cancer Run 2015” on www.youtube.com to view video from last year’s event. Our goal this year is to double the number of participants and funds raised.

With early registration each participant will receive a shirt, race bib, cancer ribbon (of their color
choice) and goodie bag. Early registration for adults (before September 16th) starts at $35. Teams of 10 or more receive a $5 discount per person. Visit www.kerncountycancerrun.org to register.

Sponsors will receive marketing benefits in addition to waived participant fees. Please see the last page for package details.

The CBCC Foundation for Community Wellness

foundation brochure smThe CBCC Foundation for Community Wellness is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to providing patients and their families with the tools and information that will help them through a cancer diagnosis. We have directly assisted over 20,000 patients and families through education, a wide range of programs, and support groups.

Our hope is that by participating in our programs and services, more Kern County residents will be aware of cancer, how to prevent it, and how to recognize its symptoms for an early diagnosis.

For those who are diagnosed with cancer, we hope to make the cancer process understandable and help families take control of the situation to overcome the disease.

For those who have survived cancer, our hope is to help make the transition smooth so that families can enjoy life cancer free.

If you are a patient or caregiver...we are here for you. If you are a survivor...we are here for you. If you want to prevent cancer...we are here for you.

In Strength, Support and Survivorship...The CBCC Foundation for Community Wellness is here for you.
