Kern County’s Less Fortunate celebrate the New Year with compassion and care at CBCC

Purpose

CBCC physicians and staff’s goal is to welcome the New Year with the spirit of giving to the less fortunate and provide the same compassion and care they provide to their patient’s each and every year. Annually, Drs. Ravi and Naina Patel foundation work with two homeless shelters, Bakersfield Homeless Center and the Bakersfield Rescue Mission, to provide a warm meal to individuals and families who are homeless or in great financial need.

Scope of the Event
This event, established over 12 years ago, provides a catered traditional holiday meal for close to 500 people under an elegant covered tent at Comprehensive Blood & Cancer Center 6501 Truxtun Ave. Bakersfield, CA 93309. Gifts are provided to all attendees, which include hooded sweatshirts, hygiene kits, gloves and socks for the adults and hooded sweatshirts mittens, books and toys for the children. The entire cost of the event is covered by Drs Ravi & Naina Patel Foundation.

First seating for the meal will begin at approximately 11:30am

Members of the media are welcome to join us to serve the less fortunate.

Funding
Ravi & Naina Patel Foundation provides the funding for the event, and the Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center (CBCC) physicians and staff donate their time to serve and interact with our guests on New Year’s Day.
