Collaborations and Awards

CBCC has grown to be the largest freestanding cancer center on the West Coast. Our commitment to excellence has not only impacted the lives of thousands of patients but has also captured the attention of national associations earning us prestigious accreditations and awards.

We are extremely proud of these accreditations and awards. It is confirmation of what our patients and their families have always known—that patient care is always the motivating priority and that CBCC is always working to outsmart cancer.

UCLA Collaboration

Since 1995, CBCC has been part of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center's Translational Oncology Research International Translational Research In Oncology network (TRIO). During this time, we have collaborated with UCLA to perform over 100 clinical trials. This partnership provides our patients with early access to the most promising, lifesaving clinical trials in the world. All types of cancer studies are happening here, giving you the benefit of UCLA’s expertise without having to travel.

CBCC is the first cancer center in the San Joaquin Valley to earn The American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers [NAPBC] accreditation. NAPBC only recognizes cancer centers that have voluntarily undergone a rigorous and thorough review of the diagnostic and clinical operation of the center. Accreditation by NAPBC not only means we meet the extremely high standards for excellence but also shows our commitment to provide the highest quality care to patients with diseases of the breast.

Achieving this accreditation is evidence of the diligence and dedication our staff consistently delivers to our patients. It is assurance to the women and their families of this community that CBCC is offering care at the highest level.

Patient care is always the primary focus at CBCC, which certainly includes patient safety. The American College of Radiation has a rigorous set independent standards for patient safety and best quality care, recognizing only 10 percent of the nation's radiation oncology centers that have successfully passed the evaluation. We are very proud that our radiation department received this prestigious ACR Accreditation, and it is a true testament to the dedication of the entire radiation team who underwent the rigorous review.

CBCC was the first radiation department in the San Joaquin Valley to achieve this accreditation and joins our MRI, CT, PET, Nuclear Medicine and Breast Center in this esteemed achievement.

The HOPE Award is given to cancer centers who have undergone extensive review from oncology experts who thoroughly evaluate the operations and procedures of selected cancer centers.

CBCC has demonstrated excellence and was privileged to receive two HOPE Awards in two separate categories:

Facilities Design for Large Practices: recognizing the operation of CBCC as an example of practicing excellence in Facility Design among large community-based cancer centers.

Integration of Care for Large Practices: honors CBCC's focus on patient care and the incorporation of infusion, radiation, PET, CT, lab, research, and diet support.
